If you made it to my site, just know I explain so much of what I do to encourage a more inclusive world and to help me practice acceptance in the world’s current state. This might not be your everyday professional website (sleek and to the point captions with pro photography), but that might be the point.
Until we collectively get better at sharing the abundance of resources the Earth has to offer, I encourage everyone, everywhere, to start with what you got and THANK YOU, for meeting me where I am.
Making art has consumed my earliest and fondest memories. I do it for the joy, my savior from adversity. The feeling of creative flow, one step after the other, hoping the next step involves a bright color or texture. Hoping to always have the time and resources to create.
In creating and enjoying art, I’ve scrolled the internet learning, comparing, trying to adapt to being a multifaceted artist with an excess of energy and internet content. The reality is that my neurodivergent brain struggles to function surviving in society on a daily basis. It struggles to self regulate, stay positive, and manage a neurotypical work week. But...
After 15+ years of being a self taught artist, selling locally at markets and through Instagram, contemplating website design, creating but never posting one… I have started telling myself “Start where you are!” I figured fuck it, I will post anxious because it’s kind of all I’ve been. Sometimes the art is “good”, sometimes I like to call it “trash art”, (silly, creative, hyper focuses that keep me from mental breakdown and terrible bouts of anxiety/depression). Both might end up here!
If you feel called to purchase anything know that it means sustainability to me, and that means the world. Your funds quite literally keep me healthy and able to make more art.
Please know, recycling and repurposing is something of big, big importance to me. Whether reusing shipping materials or using recycling as my art mediums, this is a liberating and necessary part of my processes.
How can we support artists while considering consumerism and the waste we leave on the planet?
Thank you so much for browsing. My gratitude.
